2006 European Tour
In May 2006 the Australian Chamber Orchestra embarked on its thirteenth European tour led by Artistic Director and Lead Violin, Richard Tognetti.
The itinerary included seven countries with performances in Austria, Italy, Germany, Spain, Slovenia, Poland and the United Kingdom. Two prominent soloists joined the orchestra - flautist Emmanuel Pahud during the first portion of the tour and soprano Dawn Upshaw for the second segment.
The internationally renowned chamber orchestra, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2006, presented works spanning four centuries - Toru Takemitsu encounters J.S.Bach and Brett Dean meets Antonio Vivaldi.
