Welcome to the ACO's 2009 Season

Under the visionary leadership of violinist Richard Tognetti, the Australian Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of virtuosos engaged with music at the highest level: seventeen minds thinking and breathing as one. In performances around Australia, around the world, and on many recordings, the ACO moves hearts and stimulates minds with repertoire spanning four centuries and a vitality and energy unmatched by other ensembles. ACO2 Regional Tour
ACO2, our regional touring orchestra which combines ACO musicians and our talented emerging artists, tours regional Victoria, Melbourne, Newcastle and Parramatta. Helena Rathbone and Timo-Veikko Valve introduce the tour in a short film.

2008 Annual Report

In 2008, the ACO performed 73 concerts in Australia, toured Europe and Japan, filmed Classical Destinations II and won a third ARIA Award and three Best Feature awards at international film festivals. A $1.27 million operating surplus was the result of increased sponsorship, philanthropy and ticket income, and tour cost management. Audiences grew 8.4%, with single ticket sales growing 42%.
