Aiko Goto and ACO Academy students.
This year our flagship program is being held at the Brisbane Boys’ College wrapping up with a not to be missed free concert featuring string students alongside their ACO mentors and guest soloist Wendy Kong.
Top-level secondary students - who play the violin, viola, cello or double bass - feel this is an exceptional opportunity to work with some of Australia’s best musicians and to meet other students equally passionate about chamber music.
Over the past four years, a number of talented musicians have featured as soloists with students and ACO mentors at a final concert, including Anna Da Silva Chen, Grace Clifford and Andrey Lebedev. Chen performed as a soloist at our performance at City Recital Hall in 2015 and was blown away by the students’ energy. ‘It was a genuinely beautiful experience to have been surrounded not only by such immaculate ACO mentors, but the willing and endlessly passionate youngsters who poured their hearts into the rehearsals and final performance’ she said.
