July’s ACO Academy brought 22 of the best school-aged string players from across the country to Sydney for a week of workshops and skill-building exercises with their ACO mentors, culminating in a fantastic public performance at the City Recital Hall.

Special guest soloist Anna da Silva Chen had this to say:

“It was a genuinely beautiful experience to have been surrounded not only by such immaculate ACO mentors, but the willing and endlessly passionate youngsters who poured their hearts into the rehearsals and final performance.”

From the parents of ACO Academy participant Emily Su:

“We would like to thank you so much for the most wonderful experience you gave our daughter, Emily. She learnt so much in the week and also had the best time ever! She was so inspired and excited to perform with the ACO members and other talented students from all over Australia. We had never seen her practice so hard! She also made lots of friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Emily had so much fun that she told us she didn’t want the final concert to end and wanted to do it all over again!”

ACO Academy makes its Brisbane debut in 2016, with the support of valued patrons there.
