ACO Next Update

Posted on 29 Nov 2016 by Leo Messias

ACO Next members saw out the year with a very special event at the home of John Winning, CEO of Winning Group and Appliances Online, who welcomed us into his amazing warehouse for our second cocktail party of the year.

Satu Vänskä led a thrilling performance by eleven ACO musicians, taking us through an eclectic selection of repertoire from the pulsing and energetic Orawa to the more traditional Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Violins in A minor.   The biggest surprise of the evening was an excerpt from Penderecki’s String Quartet.

The performance also included Barber's achingly sombre Adagio for Strings and, to get us in the spirit for the silly season, Corelli’s Christmas Concerto.

We’d like to thank the ACO’s partners Katering, Balmain Brewing Company, Peter Lehmann Wines and Langton’s for their support through the year, and we look forward to sharing many more memorable performances and events with members in 2017.
