We've asked Principal Double Bass Maxime Bibeau, violinist Ilya Isakovich, cellists Melissa Barnard and Julian Thompson what ACO gift they would choose to treat their loved ones and compiled their answers below to make your December just that little bit easier.
Be merry – our musicians have you covered this Festive Season!
"I think a gift of a ‘Flexi-pack’ is a lovely idea as I'm all for giving beautiful experiences rather than more 'stuff'. After all, how many of us need more trinkets or ties come Christmas time? There's a real variety of music from which to choose to create your own little package and hopefully we can bring a bit of beauty and joy through our concerts to whoever receives it. Happy Christmas!" Melissa Barnard
"The 'Choose Your Own Package' is the perfect Festive Season gift option, as it allows you to handpick your favourite concerts from the 2017 Season." Maxime Bibeau
ACO 40: THE FORTIETH YEAR BOOK
"If I had a choice of gift to give for the Festive Season I’d definitely choose the ACO 40’th book, in fact I AM giving it to my parents. I think it’s a perfect gift for someone who cherishes the ACO as it is a very personal little piece of the orchestra in your hands!" Ilya Isakovich
"I’d definitely give them tickets to the Mountain Premiere concert on 12 June. When Richard Tognetti was in the very embryonic stages of this Mountain project I suggested that he contact my close friend Jen Peedom, who has done heaps of fantastic high altitude directing, including the much-celebrated doco ‘Sherpa'. They’ve been collaborating on Mountain ever since and it promises to be truly spectacular and unique." Julian Thompson
