Dawn Upshaw toured the USA with Richard Tognetti and the ACO in 2012, premiering Maria Schneider's work Winter Morning Walks and recording the work for this CD. Winter Morning Walks includes lyrics from Ted Kooser's poem of the same name.

Also on the disc is Maria Schneider's Carlos Drummond de Andrade recorded with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
