In partnership with Penrith Symphony Orchestra (PSO) and the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre (The Joan), we have created the Penrith Strings ensemble and provide our ACO Music & Art Program to selected primary schools in Western Sydney. In doing so, we aim to inspire the next generation of musicians and music lovers in the region.

Penrith Strings is an exciting orchestral training program for talented young string players in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. It aims to become the basis of a Penrith Youth Orchestra in coming years. Students, mostly secondary or upper primary school age, receive tutoring from ACO and PSO musicians and present concerts throughout the year at The Joan. They are also able to attend selected ACO rehearsals, as well as ACO and PSO concerts.

Applications for the Penrith Youth Orchestra are now open. If you play a wind, brass of percussion instrument we invite you to apply.

This program is made possible through the generous support of the Crown Resorts Foundation and Packer Family Foundation.
