A Music and Art student's artwork

Written by Violinist and educator, Sharon Roffman, this exciting online curriculum offers primary school students the chance to learn from ACO musicians as they call into the Virtual Classroom. Students create visual art works in response to music and connect with our musicians wherever they are in the world.

A dedicated website with Australian Curriculum-linked lesson plans, content, video tutorials and video lessons guides teachers through the concepts of music and visual art, different instruments and historical periods in music and visual art. The program can be adapted to suit the level of musical knowledge of the teacher and the time they have available to work through the units in class. The program outcome is a graphic notation composition which is then performed by the ACO Inspire Quartet

Regular video conferencing lessons are delivered by ACO Inspire musicians to work through teaching ideas and give students the opportunity to hear the musicians play. Our musicians call in from all over Australia and the world, and send video diaries to the children so that they can experience the life of a professional musician.

School visits by the ACO Inspire Quartet are included in the cost of the program, if your school is in a location to which ACO Inspire or ACO Collective tours. These visits consist of live ACO Music and Art lessons for participating classes and interactive performances for the rest of the school.
