The 2019 emerging artists, gathered in front of a white wall

The ACO's Emerging Artist Program connects the next generation of talented young Australian string players with members of the ACO.

The program offers tertiary and post-tertiary musicians the opportunity to rehearse and perform with its renowned players and is tailored to suit the strengths and needs of each musician.

Each Emerging Artist receives:

  • Paid, intensive chamber music rehearsals and chamber orchestra performances with members of the ACO;

  • Private lessons with an ACO mentor;

  • Audition preparation;

  • Access to ACO rehearsals and concerts.

Selected Emerging Artists go on tour nationally and internationally with the ACO, and it is a testament to the program's success that five former ACO Emerging Artists have been appointed members of the ACO.
