ACO Underground 2013
29 September 2013
Electro-acoustic collective ACO Underground make their Oxford Art Factory debut in an eclectic, genre bending gig featuring reimagined songs by Nick Drake, Phil Spector and Nine Inch Nails, new music by Richard Tognetti and excerpts from Underground-favourites George Crumb and Anthony Pateras.
Heading quite literally underground, into the main room of Sydney's iconic Oxford Art Factory, ACO Underground front-woman Satu Vänskä has also curated some avant-garde preshow madness including a nihilistic audio-visual installation by Lost Boy and punk performer turned shout poet Marcie.
ACO Underground's eclectic, genre-bending gigs feature musicians from "badass classical band" (Time Out New York) the Australian Chamber Orchestra and regular band mates, guitarist Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) and bass guitarist Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes).

"The next installment can't come soon enough."
Sydney Morning Herald
"We had shifting formations of strings and samples, on-stage looping, vocals and acoustic guitars, electric guitars and laptops."
"Incredibly brave thing to put on a gig like you guys did, at such an unconventional venue... Amazing stuff!"
