Violin/Viola and Cello Teachers
Expressions of interest for 2021
The Australian Chamber Orchestra are seeking expressions of interest from tertiary qualified violin/viola and cello teachers with early years experience.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The ACO Foundations Program aims to improve the cognitive, emotional and behavioural development of young children through access to quality music education. Students at under-resourced schools are provided with free instrumental and music lessons, integrated into their daily classroom curriculum. The Program is currently running at St Marys North Public School in Western Sydney.
In 2021, all Year 1 and 2 students at St Marys North Public School will be provided with a violin or cello alongside weekly lessons with a specialist instrumental teacher, daily classroom practice sessions supported by digital resources made by the ACO, and regular visits from ACO musicians, who practice with the children and inspire their development.
We are looking for excellent string teachers with a commitment to growing the program in partnership with the ACO.
If this sounds like you, please submit a resume and one page cover letter to [email protected] by 11 December, 2020.
Please note that the ACO is committed to equity and inclusion, and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and people with a disability.
