For children in Western Sydney and Melbourne’s north, music has become the start of something bigger: confidence, focus and a belief in what’s possible.
Through our ACO Foundations program, we’re giving these young people the chance to learn an instrument and be part of something demanding, disciplined and joyful. When I watch them play, I see concentration, pride, and a growing sense of self belief. They’re learning more than music; they’re learning what they’re capable of.
That’s the real power of music. It sharpens the mind, builds resilience, and opens doors that might otherwise stay closed.
As we begin our annual fundraising appeal, I invite you to watch the short video and consider making a gift.
I know this is a difficult time for many, with real pressures on household budgets, and as Australia’s national touring orchestra, we feel those pressures too. That’s why any support you’re able to give this year, of any size, truly matters.
Your support helps us take music further and gives the next generation the chance to discover where it might take them.
With thanks,
