Richard Tognetti and the Orchestra are back on tour internationally in 2023, heading to the US and Canada for performances and outreach events in cities that include New York, San Francisco and Toronto.

Joined by didgeridoo virtuoso and composer William Barton, Richard and the Orchestra will perform concerts at Stanford University, Jane Mallett Theatre and George Weston Recital Hall in Toronto, and Café Carlyle in New York, marking their debut at the iconic venue.

An ACO string quartet will perform music from across the centuries, ranging from Bach, Schubert and Fanny Mendelssohn to the groundbreaking modernism of Stravinsky and Webern and contemporary music by Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and Australian composers Brett Dean and Peter Sculthorpe.

Sounds of Australia | Jane Mallett Theatre, Toronto
Wednesday 19 April, 1pm

Featuring all-Australian music, this performance will introduce audiences to the unique sounds, landscapes, stories and people of the land down under, with a special appearance by guest artist, didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton. Directed by ACO Principal Violin Helena Rathbone, this interactive concert is suitable for students in Grades 5 – 8 and will offer opportunities for audiences to learn and ask questions about what they have seen and heard.
