Touted as a figurehead in Australia’s “R&B renaissance” by The Sydney Morning Herald and "Australia's R&B Princess" by Apple Music, Milan Ring is an accomplished composer, producer, mix engineer, and musical director. The ARIA-nominated artist explores the realms of alternative and electronic music, crafting ethereal vocal arrangements while centring the guitar. She has collaborated with Questlove and Sampa The Great, and shared stages with Leon Bridges, Arlo Parks and Masego.
Based between Berlin and Sydney, Milan Ring returns with her most intimate show yet, immersing you in a sound bath that blends voice, guitar, electronics, and Australian field recordings. Drawing inspiration from the book the smell of rain on dust by Martín Prechtel, this world premiere lingers in the moments between grief and release – like the first drops of rain, the tension before transformation.
Set within The Neilson at ACO On The Pier, a circular harbourside venue, you're invited to lie down and let go in a sonic experience unlike any other with moments of fragility giving way to surges of intensity and release.
As the performance concludes, you will be invited to decompress over tea.
Partial lockout applies – latecomers will be admitted at an appropriate break in the performance. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
