The ACO is a not for profit organization that relies on commercial activity and the support of our generous donors to continue our work as Australia’s finest national orchestra, as we receive less than 12% of funding from government sources.
The cost of operating the ACO’s booking channels requires substantial investment in technology, personnel and infrastructure. To offset these costs, the ACO has introduced a once-per-order booking fee of $7.50 for all purchases of events.
Each order and booking fee makes a contribution towards ensuring the ACO’s ongoing financial sustainability as we continue to bring the Australian community an annual calendar of the best musical performances, as well as award-winning initiatives like our Emerging Artists and National Education Programs.

A handling fee of $7.50 applies per transaction for all online and telephone bookings, regardless of the number of tickets or events purchased simultaneously. This fee covers the costs of maintaining our booking systems, and also includes the cost of domestic post should you choose to have your tickets mailed to you.
Ticket exchanges are available for all main-stage concerts. Package ticket holders may exchange tickets at no cost when exchanges are made up to 21 days before the performance. After that time, a fee of $7.50 is charged per transaction. Single ticket buyers may exchange tickets for a fee of $7.50 per ticket. Please note that tickets can only be exchanged for performances in the same calendar year. For more information visit aco.com.au/exchanges
