ACO UP CLOSE
GET TO KNOW OUR PLAYERS IN THIS SERIES OF INTIMATE RECITALS.
There is much to discover about the musicians in the ACO in this series of recitals presented in Sydney and Melbourne. Hailing from eight countries and 14 cities, every ACO musician has their own story and unique musical journey. Our ACO Up Close series delves into these stories, revealing the music they love, their life outside the ACO and so much more.
Joined by a guest pianist, each musician will present a program of music closest to their heart. You’ll enjoy celebrated classics and exciting new discoveries, all to be unpacked in conversation with host Kumi Taguchi in Sydney and Zan Rowe in Melbourne.
THERE'S A SEA IN MY BEDROOM
A theatrical and immersive introduction to live classical music based on the beloved children’s book by award-winning author Margaret Wild.

WHERE THE MAGIC OF THE ACO IS PRESENTED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU.
Sharing music with new audiences lies at the heart of everything we do. This year we have launched a series of performances tailored to patrons with access needs.
Presented with flexible seating, adjusted lighting and sound levels, and a quiet space to chill out, these 50-minute relaxed performances welcome people on the autism spectrum, people with sensory sensitivities, people with disability and access needs, and parents and carers with babies in an informal, daytime experience.
This performance is tailored to those for whom the traditional concert hall experience may be inaccessible, or who may not have seen our orchestra perform live before - we want to bring the music to you. Come along, respond to the music, make noise, be yourself and have fun!
