ACO Up Close: Baroque Unveiled

Chad Kelly directs ACO Collective in a program celebrating the timeless beauty of Baroque music.

Join us for an unforgettable evening where the timeless beauty of the Baroque era will come to life. Experience the irresistible dance rhythms of John Blow’s Overture and Suite from Venus and Adonis alongside JS Bach’s Ricercar – a profound late masterpiece – and Locatelli’s heart-wrenching lament. This concert also features the world premiere performance of Chad Kelly’s reimagining of Orlando Gibbons’ sumptuous In Nomine.

The sparkling string players from the ACO’s acclaimed Emerging Artist program join musicians from the Australian Chamber Orchestra, directed by leading Baroque harpsichordist Chad Kelly – described as “brilliant” by The Times (UK). This informal performance will be interspersed with illuminating conversation hosted by the ABC’s Ce Benedict, delving into the music and instruments on stage.
