Synergy Percussion: Assembly

Percussion Australia presents a concert taking us on an evening-length journey of sound and theatrics, through the virtuosic possibilities of found and everyday objects.

Expressive, curious, percussive, and joyful, Synergy Percussion's portrait concert Assembly takes the listener on an evening-length journey of sound and theatrics through the virtuosic possibilities of found and everyday objects.

Pushing the limits of one's understanding of percussion, this captivating program features the works of Inti Figgis-Vizueta, Unsuk Chin, and Australian premieres from Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh, and Elizabeth Jigalin.

The concert will close with the 1977 work by Moya Henderson, Alanbiq, featuring her hand-crafted instrument, the Alemba, on loan from the Powerhouse Museum. Staged at The Neilson concert hall at ACO Pier 2/3, Assembly is a meeting of percussion's visual and sonic potentials, highlighting and exploring new ways to experience sound in the concert setting.
