The Australian Chamber Orchestra return to London for the second of our three seasons in residence as International Associate Ensemble at Milton Court at the Barbican Centre.
The Orchestra will perform three concerts from 3 - 5 October as part of the Barbican Presents 2019/20 Season, once again bringing the daring virtuosity, and sense of adventure for which they are so renowned around the world to audiences in London. An overview of each performance and links to full details and tickets are below:

CONCERT 1 - GOLDBERG VARIATIONS
Thursday 3 October, 7:30pm

The Orchestra begin our residency with a reimagining of JS Bach's iconic Goldberg Variations arranged for string Orchestra.

CONCERT 2 - LUMINOUS
Friday 4 October, 7:30pm

Our collaboration with photographer Bill Henson comes to the UK for the very first time in this 2019 incarnation of Luminous, which includes new music, imagery and vocals from Lior.

CONCERT 3 - THE LARK ASCENDING
Saturday 5 October, 7:30pm

Musicians from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama join the Orchestra on stage in an inspiring conclusion to our second residency, which includes performances of Britten's Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge and Vaughan Williams' beloved masterpiece, The Lark Ascending performed by Richard Tognetti.

Richard Tognetti AO

Director & Violin

Richard Tognetti is Artistic Director and Lead Violin of the ACO. He has established an international reputation for his compelling performances and artistic individualism.

Richard has appeared as director or soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras. He was Artistic Director of Slovenia’s Festival Maribor from 2008 to 2015 and the first Artist-in-Residence at the Barbican Centre’s Milton Court in 2016. In addition, he has curated and co-composed film scores including the ACO’s Mountain.
