ACO Collective

Relaxed Performance: The Lark Ascending

An accessible, 50-minute concert featuring Vaughan Williams’s enduringly beloved The Lark Ascending, presented in a relaxed, welcoming setting at ACO Pier 2/3 in Sydney's Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.

Throughout May, ACO Collective, our orchestra of the brightest up-and-coming string players in the country, tours with The Lark Ascending

With its soaring melodies and joyful trills, Ralph Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending creates a radiant portrait of a lark in flight, trailing a silver chain of sound as it rises. ACO Collective performs this eternal favourite with ACO Principal Violin Helena Rathbone as soloist.

About ACO Relaxed performances

We are thrilled to invite you to join us for two new ACO Relaxed performances in 2024 in our beautiful harbourside home at ACO pier 2/3.

Presented with flexible seating, adjusted lighting and sound levels, and a quiet space to chill out, these 50-minute relaxed performances are tailored to those for whom the traditional concert hall experience may be inaccessible. We warmly welcome people with disability and/or who are d/Deaf, including those with sensory sensitivities and other access needs. Come along, respond to the music, be yourself and have fun!

We are pleased to announce that in 2024 there will be $10 tickets available for people with disability, and/or people who are d/Deaf. This may include NDIS participants, Companion Cards holders, members of the Sunflower program, or anyone with an association with a disability or support organisation. If this is you, please phone the ACO Box Office on 1800 444 444 or email [email protected] to access this special ticket price.
